Anyone have a good source for a new front end differential? Mine is growling at me.

Are you sure its the front diff? They just dont go bad unless you were in 4x4 and broke something.
Growling sounds from the front could be bad wheel hub bearings or bad cv joint axles.

But if you need a new front diff, look for any '02-'07 Jeep Liberty at you local salvage yard that has the same gear ratio as yours or look one up on copart.com.

Thanks, a shop diagnosed it. They had good reviews, but are new to me (recently moved). My first thought was wheel bearings, especially because the sound goes away when I veer left and the weight comes off the left side. Seems like it may be time for a second opinion. Would the front diff even be making noise if its in 2wd?

Based on your description, I suspect you have a bad wheel hub bearing going bad. They are common to fail with higher mileage.
Also could be tire noise in rare occasions.
Does the noise increase as speed increases?
Not likely a front differential problem, but it could be a pinion bearing or carrier bearing going bad. (very rare)
To truly diagnose, vehicle needs to be put on a rack fully lifted with all four tires off the ground and all four wheels spun up to speed while a mechanic listens to each bearing to find the bad one.
All the front drive line parts still spin even when in only 2 wheel drive.
Sounds like you really need a second diagnosis!

Thanks, yes, my first thought was wheel bearings. The sound starts around 45mph, and increases in volume. It also goes away when veering left at high speed and the weight comes off the left wheels.

Sounds like wheel bearings to me. Mine did the exact same thing, changed the wheel hubs and fixed the problem. Like wwdiesel said, lift the front wheels off the ground and spin the wheels and listen for any noises.
