it was JBA. it was the one right before they came out with the gussets and removable ball joint
All the JBA UCA's,GENI-GENV, have replaceable balljoints.

GENI-GENIV's have a screw in type balljoint
GEN4.5-GENV have bolt on type balljoint

I'm sorry, but you are giving a small discount for customers to get quality parts? The customers with the problems are the customers that helped build your recognition and reputation. Now you are telling them that your faulty stuff is worth nothing to you, and they have to basically buy new parts? When Jeep did this and Ball joints were failing, they issued a Recall and gave their customers free replacements. Of course they are require to by law if a part is a safety issue. I am pretty sure A arms breaking in half is a safety issue. But I am not sure at all if your company is liable in the same way as Jeep.

Sweet, Marlin! I'll be upgrading soon.

I recognize that these are custom aftermarket components and have been continuously upgraded over the years. I didn't expect them to be perfect in the first place. I understood this from the first posting of the first failed weld. I still bought them.

I'd not be much better off if I kept the stock arm 'system' and the stock ball joints failed as often as they were. I went through two and half sets of stock ones in two years before the JBA's. I don't at all mind paying to upgrade. :D Such is progress!

Well Add me to the list of broke JBA A-Arms. Snapped one on the way to work today. Luckily I was only going about 10-15 mph. Felt like a flat the way it pulled. Was able to safely pull over and get a $50 tow for 1.5 miles.

I think it is a red Gen III arm, bought it around Xmas 06 if I remember, maybe it was '07.

Guess I'll contact Marlin in the morning to see what I can figure out. aghhh stupid jeep.

later, mike

well that sucks! I have been paranoid as hell driving my wifes KJ around, especially while wheeling in places where a repair would be a real pita. All I can think about while going over obstacles is how I wil be ablt to fix it while up on a rocky hill, etc.

I can't afford replacement JBA's so it looks like I am going back to stockers until I can figure out if I can somehow beef up the Gen 2's i have. This sucks. :?

C'mon Mike, just think what a hassle it would have been to be in a wagon a hundred years ago - makes a topless Jeep seem just fine by comparison  Hope the new UCAs do the trick for ya.
