This is some good news for emmissions testing on 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD Diesel.
Went to have my annual test and now 2006 KJ CRD is listed as to go straight to Director's Certificate as thier test equipment ( those roller wheels) is not compatable with the Jeeps ESP/BAS/ABS system.
Yeah!! Third time testing and first two times had to fight them to get around that stupid "not for ESP traction control light diesel vehicles". they just cranked out that waiver and off I went!
So when you take your 2006 KJ CRD in just make sure to have them check thier computer for the list of auto wavered vehicles. This was a happy day for me!
Please PM me if you need further elaboration.
If you want to go to the very test station I used // it's the one on Eddie Albert Road in Goodyear....cross street Sarival and Buckeye Road.
I was ready for the improper roller ride just in case as I filled with B100 before// cause biodiesel smokes very very little and smoke/soot is that's what they are looking for. Now I get to burn this tank of bio and truck runs smoother/quieter/better than dinoD2 only!!

Hey Roland, Thanks for the info. On the emissions topic, does anyone (Maricopa County)have their jeep straight piped? And how did the inspection go?
Sorry for the "thread jack" I figured since the AZ section is a little sparse you wouldn't mind.

Back when they forced an inspection in previous years they did check for a cat converter (actually an oxidisor ). One time they even opened my fuel cap to pressure test for vapor return line(bunch of idiots-that's gasser only)!!
But now they just hand over the "DC"(directors certificate/waiver ). So a straight pipe may go through ..... I really do not know. I have my oxidisor gutted but left the outer shell just in case and I am still running stock Jeep muffler. Makes the turbo whine a little louder.
If you run it through report the results!

I am good till next March. I actually took my 82 vw rabbit pickup diesel through today. Front wheel drive diesel, reverse, then 1st really messes with their techs. So they did take off my cap for a second and realized it would get them nowhere. Near 20 minutes of them stalling my truck and not letting me help was getting quite aggravating

I took mine in in December and watched it do the dance of wiggles on their machine. The result was ridiculously low opacity reading and I was not running bio-diesel. I will miss her, but the new old Jeep is on its way :)

I just tested my new to me 05 CRD last week (Mesa)

They did a bulb check on the CEL, then plugged into the OBD port.

I was concerned because it keep setting CEL for glow plugs 3&4. However, I was able to figure out that if I cleared it after reaching operating temperature the light would stay off until the next cold start requested glow plugs.

GDE seems to have ironed out the readiness monitors. So, passed with no problem and the CEL was back the next morning. I'll tackle the glow plugs when it is not 100 in the garage.
