Yeah, I am down to caravan. Hhmmmm, now to think of a place...Travis, you want to meet at the spot? Where should we meet you Kevin? Just chime in, we'll get it figured out. Anyone allergic to dogs? Or just plain not like them? I was going to bring mine so if someone would rather me not, just let me know.

Ummm...I havent ever been there before so  I hope someone chimes in and gives me an idea of how long it will take to get there. If I were to guess I would say it will take us 1hour and 30min, but I dont know for sure. Kevin, youve got GPS right? Do you know the coordinates to where we are going?

Coming from N. Phoenix, it takes about an hour and fifteen minutes. We usually met at the flagpole in the big dirt staging area about ten minutes south of Apache Juntion on hwy 79 (left hand side). Coke ovens will definitely need skids all the way around. I might be up for a nice Sunday drive. Travis...where do you usually meet Bethany? Maybe I can caravan as well if you both would like company.

Here are driving directions to Cottonwood Canyon road in .doc format:

From Phoenix

From Tucson

The GPS co-ordinates for the Cottonwood Canyon Road turnoff are
N33 10.730 (N33 10' 43.8")
W111 21.126 (W111 21' 07.6")

The directions from Phoenix start at the 101 and US60; from Tucson they start at Ina and Oracle Rd. I figure everyone knows how to get to the respective starting locations. Beth, we can meet pretty much anywhere between Dobson/US60 and Florence Junction - let me know where to go and I'll be there. There are a couple of gas stations on the road out to Florence Junction that we can stop at for fuel (for us and the vehicles 8) )

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday. Dave, you can come along and help to keep ne from makin' a fool of myself :o

Beth, if you and Travis can't come up with something better how about meeting me at the Super WalMart at Stapley and US60 at 7am. Theres a big lot for us to meet in and a couple of gas stations nearby to fill up at. The 101 eastbound is going to be closed from the 51 over to Frank Lloyd Wright so you might want to come down the 51 to the 10 and around. From the WalMart its 36 miles to Cottonwood road so it'll take us about 30-40 minutes to get there depending on how fast we go and what traffic is like. If you want to meet earlier let me know. Beth, do you have a CB? I know Dave does and I'm pretty sure Travis does too. Just wondering...

No problem Beth, we all have days like that. What kind of power adapter do you need for your CB? What model do you have? I may be able to scrounge something in my pack-rat collection of stuff.

Beth what do you mean by power adapter? It is susposed to be wired straight to your battery or electrical system. Roach just tapped in to my power windows electric and it worked perfect. Do you need help installing it? Let me know and we'll get that puppy in. I'll see you all tomorrow.

Also do you have an antenna and the coax that goes out to it? Let us know and we'll get that thing set up for ya. Maybe meet a bit earlier at the WalMart so we have time to hook it up. Yes we're pushy, we're guys! Seriously, if you want it set up for the ride tomorrow it shouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes. I'll have tools and I'm sure Travis will too.
