Robert... Beth and I may be in. How are you going? I'd prefer going through Globe and up 288 which is a graded dirt road.

We would love you see you!!
The way from Payson is actually a bit more tame and 29 miles of maintained dirt road where as through Globe is 56 miles of graded dirt road. It takes about 30min less if you go the Payson route... Just wanted to give you a heads up on that.

Count us in!!!

We'll follow you up through Payson or whichever way you go. We've been to Young both ways and it's a good graded road whatever way you go.

Where and what time do you want to meet up??? :D

I didn't know you have been there before! We are going to meet you two at the Cherry Creek Store in town, do you know/remember where that is? We will be there at right about 10am Saturday morning to meet everyone who shows up Saturday :D ! If you don't it is on the main road in town next to the feed shop and across the street from the auto shop (if you want to call it that)

Sounds good, where do you want to meet up?

If you're coming up Elsworth to catch the Bush Hwy to the Bee Line, there's a McD's on the SW corner of Elsworth and Main (it's in a Cheveron Station). I'll take a sausage mcmuffin and a small coke!!! :D

Yeah we've been there a couple of three times and took the trail to Punkin Center on the way home. The last time was right after we bought the KJ. We still hadn't put skids on when we ran the trail. One section took us four hours to go seven miles it was so rocky.

Yeah, I think we can find the meeting place in town!!

Reading the text regarding the $6 Tonto NF pass I understand it to be good for 24 hours so 2 are required for the weekend per vehicle? But I understand passes are available in Young. It is greatly appreciated Bethany bought passes ahead of time and we can buy those first but the way it looks we may need more! That's a good thing!

Well we are going to be in Payson at around 2:30 Friday afternoon... If that is to early and no one else is leaving later, we can meet you somewhere if you have an estimate on what time you can leave Phx. By the way, I left you message, if you still need directions let me know!

It looks like Silverdiesel is right, we are going to need more of those passes... We will be okay for Friday night but we may have to stop at the Ranger Station on Saturday to pick some more up, not a problem! I will bring some extra cash to do that.

Well don't worry about a pass for me, I'm gonna be working both days this weekend to try to ensure a three-day weekend for the holiday (nothing I hate worse than working a holiday weekend). Y'all have fun and stay cool 8)

Okay, well I got some paper plates, paper bowl, plastic ware and paper towels so that should be taken care of. :D I am going to pick up some ground beef for burgers and I will bring some chili for Saturday night. I think if we all bring a little bit for the dinner Saturday we will be okay cause I doubt I will have enough ground beef for the whole crew  I am excited to see everyone tomorrow and Saturday! If anyone can think of anything else post it up here before noon tomorrow!!

I'm curious. What trails are going to be run? I've run two that go from south of Young a few miles on 288 that take you down the mountains into Punkin Center....

To be 100% honest I have never done that trail! I was going to take everyone to Spring Creek though just because it is amazing and has a bunch of abandoned mines... Other than that I was going to take them kind of around what used to be my property and see if the waterfalls are going with all the run-off. I am up for ideas if you want to do that trail though. Vern was talking about wanting to do FR 133 to Hells Gate.
