Did you all install your own lifts, or could you recommend a good shop in the Phoenix area? I'm still debating whether I want to just drive out to Riverside and have All J's throw on a Frankenlift. |

Thanks. Have you been happy with the Frankenlift? I talked to 4 Wheelers supply on Washington, sounds like they haven't installed one before--but its all just nuts & bolts (and springs and shocks). |

Absolutely 100% happy with the Frankenlift. I had called around to a bunch of the shops (4Wheelers, Fly'n'Hi, Desert Rat) and was told by all that they really didn't want to put in customer parts. I have almost no mechanical experience and pulling an independent front suspension apart seemed like not an easy first task. It was not a big deal. There are detailed directions on this board (I probably still have a copy of the step-by-step MSWord doc) and with the help of a friend we knocked it out in a day. I'm very glad I did it. Makes me know and appreciate the Libby even more. |

Did you go with the OME or Rancho shocks/struts? I don't want to have a harsh ride for everyday driving. I assume I wouln't need a spring compressor since the front ia already put together??? I have a copy of the install from their webpage, any other specials tools needed? |

Coollmnade, I had my Daystar lift done at 4wheelers. Ask for Mike in service if you go and mention I referred you. They might bend a little about installing a lift that they don't usually carry. Good luck! Todd Lawrence |

You may try VALLEY SPRING SERVICE, on Washington and about 26th ST. This should be no prob for them. www.valleyspringservice.com . |

I have the HD (OME) front and don't consider the ride harsh. As for the install...some have mentioned using a strap/ratchet/come-along for getting the front back together again but I used no more than a couple of jacks and a bit of sweat. |

SethX9, Thanks for all your help, I placed a Frankenlift order today! phxtoad, I did drop your name today, Mike seems fine installing customer supplied parts. I brought in the "new kid gets a lift" article so he knew what type of parts were involved. cowdogg, didn't know about Valley Spring and I drive by there once or twice a week. I'll keep an eye out for it, I saw a Ford from there website on Washington a few weeks back. Monster! Can't wait to get out on the trails soon, those stock tires worry me every time I look at them. I went to Box Canyon/Coke Ovens with a friend two weeks ago in his YJ, I think those stockers wouldn't last a minute. We also didn't head the "don't travel while raining" warning, we're lucky we made it home. I'll get to posting pictures someday, even though they are non-KJ. Erik |

Never met a bigger bunch of arse hats in my life. They hate Jeeps- all Jeeps, did not even bring up KJ's. The guy behind the counter was downright insulting of my friends XJ. Well, at least he tried to be. He would have needed another 30 IQ points to have actually made an insult that made sense. The parts there are also overpriced. Bottom line- if you are not a red neck in a pickup, do not go to 4wheel parts. There are 5 other shops within a block anyway. |
