Post subject:  Time to install my lift

I can't take it anymore! I have had the parts for this lift (minus bumpstops) sitting in my apartment for over a month. Work has been taking pretty much all my time but this weekend I should be able to install it. If anyone has any spare space that I can use I'd appreciate it - I live in an apartment and they frown on vehicle work in the parking areas. I'm looking to do it either Saturday or Sunday depending on whether I have to work any OT (which would be Saturday cuz I'm NOT working two OT days again). Help will be gratefully accepted but is NOT mandatory 8)

Thanks!

Oh, Signcutter just PM'd me that the bumpstops are on the way, so they should be here by the weekend...

Post subject:  Busy this weekend

I am busy this weekend, but free the next weekend. I have a garage and some tools, but am at the end of the world in east queen creek.

Pablo, thanks for the offer. I am supposed to go to ABQ next weekend (10/6 - 10/8 ) to help my mother with some things, so if I don't do it this weekend it will most likely have to wait until the weekend of 10/14 - 10/15.

We are up in Holbrook but our garage is always available to anyone that needs some help. Got all the tools, jacks, stands, and a very kooshy creeper. we are right off I-40. I know its a ways from the valley but it's here if needed. I am off Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.

I'm out of town the next two weekends. If you don't get it until 10/14 I could help.

i can offer my garage. I don't know if I have all the required tools though. And I also have never done a lift before but would like to learn/ help. I live at Alma school and Queen Creek.

I would also be interested in helping at another location. I am doing my pinch weld work and changing spark plugs this weekend also.

You can go east or you can go west, to Peoria that is.
You can use my garage if you like. I was just planning on yard work etc. but who would pass up a chance to get some grease under their fingernails.
Sunday is probably better than Saturday, but I could do either.
broncsrule, you would be welcome to stop by as well, but Queen Creek to Peoria is one long drive.

After a little google maps action, I'm thinking corwyyn lives a lot closer to Queen Creek and Alma School than Olive and 91st Ave. corwyyn where do you live?

Well, if you are looking at the Frappr map of LOST then I am right where it says I am (OK, maybe about 500ft away from there). I live at University and Gilbert in Mesa. Either place works for me - I don't mind a bit of a drive. And come to think of it, I have been meaning to get over to Toms side of town; a friend of mine at work recently opened a mexican food restaurant at 107th ave and Olive and I've been meaning to get over there to try it out. Broncsrule (Tim I think is the name?), are the Broncos even playing? Looking at the schedule on NFL.com it shows they have an open day this week.

Tom, why don't we plan on Sunday, say around 10am or so? That will give me time to make sure the bump stops get here from signcutter (he said they went in the mail Wednesday), and I need to call 4 wheeler supply today to see if they have some rear shocks in stock. Broncsrule, if you feel like driving over then come on and help out, if not thats cool; I appreciate the offer of the garage and the help anyway. Tom, can you post some directions from the 101 and Peoria, I can get that far on my own :P

Post subject:  Bumpstops

I saw a fabrication post on an Aussie site for KJs where the guy used rubber mallets, like you buy at harbor freight, and used the heads as bumpstops for his lifted KJ. He drilled some counter sunk holes for the mounting bolts so they would not impact the upper arm during full bumpstop pounding.

I don't have a link, but I thought I would pass on the concept to you.

Post subject:  Re: Bumpstops

Thanks for the idea, I have also seen a page where they went to the local sporting goods store and bought a bag of hockey pucks and drilled them to use as bump stops. As I speak the postman (woman?) is out delivering the mail so I'll know in about a half hour if they are here today.

OK, Sunday it is.

I'm not all that excited to put my home address up for the world to see, so I'll PM corwyyn and broncsrule with directions. If anyone else wants to stop by just ask for my address and I'll PM it to you.

Hmm, rubber mallets sounds like an interesting idea, but they would probably be to long if you didn't cut them in half. One mallet both right and left sides.

One note: found out they are doing paving work on the 10 from 43rd to 67th aves. Broncsrule, if you are heading over you might want to find an alternate route rather than going out to the west 101 and up. I'll may just go around the 101 from tempe and get off at olive, we'll see how traffic is in the morning. Tom I've got your number in case I'm running late.
