Are there any other AZ Jeep Liberty hams?

I'm scheduled to work the Crown King Scramble with the M.C.E.C.G. in March and am curious if any other KJ Hams would be present.

Hey Lyle, I think I've seen you driving around in the Mesa area a couple of time :D I've yet to get involved with any of the events that MCECG works, but it's been in the back of my head for some time. Didn't know about this event but I may try to get some more info and see what I can do (hopefully I'll be working my new job on day shift by then).

Have you thought about coming out for FITS this weekend? We're going to have some runs going out to Martinez Cabin and Box Canyon. If you have some time drop by!

I'd love to make it out to FITS. However, I probably will not be able to make it this year. My wife is 38 weeks pregnant and is concerned about going into labor while I'm out wheel'n.

I live in SW Mesa near MCC and work in NE Tempe, so I'm sure that you've seen me driving down Dobson at some point. The 2M/70CM antenna mounted to my roof rack makes my black CRD easy to spot.

MCECG has a weekly net on Monday nights @ 9PM on Mt Ord (146.92) and Shaw Butte (147.24). I just got involved with the group a few months ago and worked a 1/2 marathon in October, nothing too exciting, but I am looking forward to the Crown King Scramble and Zane Gray Highline 50 events.

Check out W9PE's Ham Cram and KB6NU's study guide. These are two great resources for passing the "No Code" Tech license exam.

Wow. How are you getting away with that? :) I was in Vegas last week at CES for work and my wife was paranoid that she would go into labor while I was gone. When I mentioned the FITS event this weekend, her eyes turned into daggers .

Congrats... Any plans for a mobile radio in your KJ?

The Maricopa County Emergency Communications Group Net (http://www.mcecg.net) is on Monday nights on the Mt Ord 146.920, linked to the Shaw Butte 147.240 repeaters. If you're interested in using your Jeep Liberty and Ham license for public safety, tune in and join in.

I believe he said he has a Yeasu HT, so that'll work for a mobile. I'd love to do the net, but I work swing shift M-F and doubt I could get out to the Jeep long enough to do any good (I really need to get onto day shift  )

OH, and congrats Tom - I'll keep my rig tuned to the White Tanks repeater (146.94) and listen for you.

Kevin has a good memory. I picked up a Yaesu HT to cary when hiking and other out-of-door type activities that take me far afield and often far away from the Liberty. Next on the to purchase list is a mag mount antenna for the Liberty. Someday the Liberty will get its own radio. By the time that happens I might be ready to get involved with a group like MCECG, but for now I already have a full plate.
