Received the State Association dash plaques, stickers, patches, and id cards. Still missing is the state land permit that has not come in yet. Hoping to have that by the end of the month.

I'm planning to be in Phoenix this Sunday 4/15/07. Let's get together for lunch somewhere and I can distribute the goods. Where would be a good place to meet in the Mesa or Tempe area?

CRUD!!!

I missed this when you first posted Vern. I've been battling the annual bout of spring allergies/whatever and I didn't even get online much the past few days. I'll just wait until you get back from Moab and get all this from you. Have fun up north!

Wan't able to make the Sunday lunch and my trip to Moab was abbreviated by a blownout transmission. When is the next opportunity to get some of that there "stuff" Any more on that rumor of a Crown King run in the near future.

Sorry to hear about your tranny Tom, ouch.

I am going to mail out the ID cards, stickers, and dash plaques to the members this week. I had been holding off hoping the state land permits would come through also and do one mailing but the state is giving us the run-around so I'm going to mail out what I have and catch up on the rest of the stuff later. Thanks for your patience.

The state is trying to change the rules on us before they will issue the land passes. They are asking for a complete list of what trails will be run in the next year, on what days, how many members, who are they, etc. That is an impossible request and they know it.

The AZ State Association of 4WD Clubs (ASA4WDC) is continuing to work with them but at this point I can't give you a date of when we will have the land passes.

I'll keep you updated as I learn more.

Thanks for the update Vern.

At the risk of a thread hijacking; Made it to Moab on Monday but missed the tail start time and did some sight seeing as an alternative. There I was just passed the Delicate Arches turnoff in Arches National Park driving along on a nice paved road gawking at the scenery and “WHIRRRRRR” big loud noise. And, lost all forward momentum. After being towed to Grand Junction and sleeping in the parking lot of the Jeep Dealer, they told me I needed a new transmission. Fortunately, it was covered under warranty. Picked the Liberty up wearing a new tranny on Friday afternoon, just in time to drive home.

There is always next year . . .

That has to be the saddest moab story yet, bummer. Oh well, you're ready for next year with a new tranny.
