Post subject:  price of gear change

I asked a shop here in town (Phx) where I already happened to be shopping what it would cost to swap gearing. They quoted $1600. Can anyone give me a sanity check on that?

Seth.,.....dont let just anybody do your gears!!!!!!! especially with all that lift, chance for vibes are REAL good unless the pinion angles are perfact!!!
I did ALOT of research on gear install.

Joe REALLY knows what he is doing , he did my 5:13's and everything was Perfact, he does ALOT of gear work and alot of other mods aso.
He is located in Phoenix..........
as far as the $1600.........probaly not far off, depending on your gear choice if you have lockers , etc........
Call Joe.......
Look no further!!!!!! You will be more than happy you did!!!!!!
he may be able to give you some insight on your rear (leaf) suspension also.........

Wow..that's quite the glowing review! I will definitely give Absolute a call and set up a consultation appointment. They're actually not far from the house either.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll tell'em you sent me...

mechanics are a dime a dozen.........
but mechanics that REALLy know what there doing are hard to find.......
after Joe installed gears on our LJ, my wife "Tammy" said " Joe is her new best friend"...... 8) .......and she even admitted if she knew the gears would make that much difference we could have done that mod much sooner..... WUWHooo......
I'm sure he see's a ton of Jeeps......not sure if he'll remember us.....
quote Tammy......."her new best friend"......and a clean white LJ nicknamed "stretchie".........

You are not gonna find a more detail oriented or better mechanic than Joe. He did my gears too along with a few other things. There is a reason i call him Joesus. :D

Travis! What is up man?!

Yeah...as soon as work calms down and I put a little coin in my purse I'll head over there. I may go over and see if I can get a sanity check...have him tell me what he thinks I need to pay attention to. The rear suspension needs a hairline crack welded (ultimately it needs to be replaced but one thing at a time right?).

Thanks for chiming in...
