I hope you dont mind if i rant a little, but i had the worst customer service experience of my life recently and i wanted to share it with all of you. About six weeks ago i took my '05 300 in for service for some transmission issues. Keep in mind this is the FOURTH time ive taken it to them. They say they found some bulletin where it states "replace a craked filler tube in the tranny and flush it twice" whatever... thats not the important part. They had to order a part and wouldnt let me drive it home and they would keep it over the weekend. This all happened friday afternoon... the NEXT morning i got a phone call, "You'd better come down here right away..." Long story short, someone broke into my car, that was locked up in their barbed wire, fenced in back lot! (inside job right?) They shaddered the back window and stole ALOT of stereo eqiupment, about $3000 worth, and threw my kids stroller in a puddle and it got covered in ants. They offered to put it back together on their dime and give me a rental car, so that was cool right??? Fast forward 4 WEEKS and only one phone call, they tell me its ready. Its parked up front and i walk to it and see it FILTHY with fingerprint dust from the cops a month ago, and the dash board is still ripped out and sitting in the driver's seat. They tell me some story that the radio and dashboard wasnt in the original estimate from the insurance guy. WHAT?!?!?! Its 4 weeks later and they tell me that its ready??? Bullsh*t! I cuse the guy out and leave. Another week later they say its finally ready. About an hour before i leave to pick it up, they tell me there is another problem with some harness in the dash board. They want to know if they should order it (which will take another week to get there) or just splice and solder it back together. I told them I want it done RIGHT! So what did they do? They spliced it of course... I'll wrap this up... I talked to their insurance guy, and since i didnt have all my receipts for everything, i got a check for $1100. When i finally got it home, i was putting the carseat base back in and cut my hand on small piece of broken glass they claimed to have vaccumed up. I looked a little deeper and found a TON of glass in the trunk and between the seats. That could have been my kids hand that got cut! Bottom line... dont take ANY of your business to Steve Christy. Im going with Jim Click for now on. The only good thing that came form this was the Grand cherokee 4x4 i got for a rental! Anybody else have problems with steve christy besides me?? |

Wow, I am sorry to hear that. Are you thinking about any kind of civil suit or letting BBB know of your situation? Just curious, I don't know anything about that stuff but if it were me I would look into it. |

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. That sounds incredibly frustrating. I've not dealt with them personally so I can't speak from experience. I've heard some people say they are good and others say they are not good. I have always (5+ years) dealt with Jim Click since it's near my house and have had good luck with them. I've tried to establish a relationship with a few key people in sales and service and work only with them. You do have to be your own advocate and keep after them, but if they know you they seem to be more likely to meet your needs. If I were you I would not hesitate to schedule a meeting with Mr. Christy himself. I've never had to request a meeting with Mr. Click but if I didn't get anywhere with his staff I wouldn't hesitate. I've heard from others he is open to meeting with customers and resolving problems and I'm sure Mr. Christy would be as well. |

i havent talked to the BBB, but that might not be a bad idea... as for setting up an interview with Steve Christy, thats no good since as of October, he sold the dealer to the same guy who owns Tucson Dodge. |
