Here is a link to an article in the Arizona Republic regarding a registration fee for off-highway vehicles. I know there is a section on Legislative issues but since this affects those in Arizona I thought it might be good to place it on the AZ lost section.

Just important stuff to keep up on.

Here is a link to the actual bill on the AZ Legislature website. This is a revision of last years Copper Sticker program and would apply primarily to those vehicles specifically designed for off-highway use. Vehicles that are registered with the state Motor Vehicle Department would not be required to participate in the program. I had read on another forum that this would replace the State Land Trust permit but after reading thru the bill I see that only 5% of the monies are allocated to the State Land dept. so I'm not sure if that statement is true. It looks good right now but as with so many bills it's hard to say what the final version will look like.

Thanks Corwyn, just wanted to get this out there. If the bikes are being asked to pay a fee, it would only take a little longer since we all have to pay those fees. Doesnt mean that it is bad, just something to be aware of.

I agree, although when you think about it we already pay a fee when we purchase a STL permit to pass thru 'our' lands. But yes, it could be the start of the slippery slope that leads to much harsher and more stringent restrictions on our pastime.
