Post subject:  Officer nominations for 2009

It's that time again, nominations for club officers for 2009. Our charter calls for nominations for officers in December with elections in March. The following positions are open for nominations-

President
Vice-President
Treasurer
Secretary
Trail Captain

We'll try something different this year by doing our nominations on-line as opposed to the semi-annual meeting. This should open things up a little more for folks that can't attend a meeting.

Nominations are open for anyone who is a paid club member. Associate members (Out of state or vendors) are not eligible for officer positions. Please check with that person to make sure they are interested in serving as an officer before you nominate them to avoid confusion.

The future of the club depends on it's members. We need some new faces in the officer positions to bring new ideas and energy to the club. Without a strong group of officers the club will decline and cease to exist.

Vern... I'll start this off with a question. Are any of the current officers interested in staying on or changing positions?

I can't speak for the other officers. I would be willing to help in some capacity besides president or VP. I did that for a few years and feel it's time for some new ideas there, plus I have other commitments that I must honor with the State Association

I would like to continue to help the club, but as I mentioned to Vern and the other officers I am going to be changing schedules at work and the new schedule is Friday, Saturday and Sunday (12hrs each day) so that will severely limit my ability to attend events and meetings.

Okay!!! It's time to get serious and get the ball rolling!!!

I've talked to both Mike (signcutter21) and Ernie (Neatus) about accepting a nomination for officer positions with AZ LOST. They both have said they would be interested and have some ideas and things they'd like to see.

With that said, I nominate:

Mike (signcutter21) for the position of Club President
Earnie (Neatus) for the position of Club Vice President

I think they would "both" make a great team together.

Now... how about some more nominations for the other positions that need to be filled?

- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Trail Captain

Beth said she would be happy to serve as a LOST Secretary. She just signed up for the forum and is waiting on confirmation from Admin.

She registered under the username of Mrs AZKJ

Kevin... I really appriciate the nomination. Someone already asked me a couple of days ago, but I declined. Maybe next year after I retire.

For now I'd just like to get involved in the background helping out the new officers where I can and learn how this club is run.

Thanks again Kevin...

Hey, I just signed on to this forum and I will be glad to accept the nomination.

Thanks, Mike

P.S. This does not mean I am going to let AJ lift "my" Liberty. :P
