Hey,
At Trick R Jeep, the topic of a second Border Run during the Thanksgiving Weekend came up. I'm more than willing to host it again. I'll start looking for a different route. One for change of scenery, two because of the "fence project" the actual border road has become very easy. I'm sure I'll be able to find something a bit more challenging.

Date: Saturday, 11/29/08
Time: 8 AM, for breakfast at the Bisbee Breakfast Club, Driver's meeting and Trail afterward
Location: South, south east AZ in the Douglas/ Bisbee area.
Why: To give thanks for the wonderful life we live to be able to play jeeps.

Attendees:
Signcutter
AZKJ- aka #3 (sporting the new ride ?)
08K
Silver KJ

We're in!!! Breakfast in Bisbee sounds great. And yes, we'll be in the new ride with the BFG MT's that I had put on yesterday.

Too bad that I'm going to have to miss this one. I'll be in the sand dunes with my rail.
I guess there is next time.

Come on guys... Bisbee/Douglas isn't that far away. Sure would be nice to see some smiling faces down there. Wish Beth and I could have made last years run, but she had surgery and we couldn't make it.

Mike... we've made our reservations at the Calument House in Bisbee, so we'll be down there even if this run doesn't happen. AJ

Oh thats funny! I soo do! That trip was very memorable and I would like to go again. I will start making plans to clear my schedule so that i can attend this run.

I hope to plan it out better than last time. Last time i didnt have a place to stay or warm cloths, it got cold out of the blue over night and snowed the next day, i slept in the back of the jeep best i could on the outskirts of town!

cool AJ, we'll do something even if its just us.

Casey, same offer as last year is still open. I'll put you down that way you'll feel commited to having to make it.

I'll double check on that date. They usually have it on saturdays. I'm impressed that you looked it up though o8K

Did some scouting today. WOW, found a new way to run the mountains on the Bisbee side. That way it'll be different for the repeat vistors. The trail is mostly a 2 out of 5. I would say as difficult as Box Canyon (FJ).

Found an awesome wash that will require some articulation to get through, but still very doable. I think I only tapped my boulder bar one time and that was taking the hard way. I did however remind myself that I needed to have a second vehicle when I "explore" Got stuck twice trying to finish the wash. Spent a good hour to make it that last 10 feet.

I'll post a pic or two later.

Okay!!! You better hope I don't jump in and show him how it drives on the open road.... :P

What time is the parade? And from what I've been reading, Casey has something to do with that truck, no???

Slight chance I might make it down there, not sure just yet as I will be in Glendale for Thanksgiving Day and on Friday as well, anyone camp down there or anything as If I were to go I'd get there Friday night so as to be ready for Saturda morning. Hope everyone is doing well!!

Im planning on heading down friday afternoon, Goofing off in Bisbee, then camping out friday night. So as to b ready sat morning.

Im looking for a camp site at the moment, if i can just park in town on the street, that will work for me, camper shell on truck is tinted, so as long as theres overnight parking in town, i should be good.

Although i want to bring the dogs (Dakota & Kahlua) so i may not want to deal w/ them in town and thus just find a wilderness area to hike and enjoy friday day&night.

Still researching... If anyone is up for a friday night camp, im lookin for somthing interesting.
