I took this the other day at the top of Observation Hill between McMurdo Station (US) and Scott Base (New Zealand). The mountain in the background is Mt Discovery and is just shy of 9,000 feet and is about 47 miles away from my position(to give ya some perspective)

Way cool!!! A guy I used to work with spent two summers down there working as a jack-of-all-trades and used to tell us what an experience it was. You'll have plenty of stories to tell when you get home, I'm sure. Oh!!! How a about a penguin pic or two??? Have a nice Christmas down there (if you were on the other pole and close to Santa's place, maybe... well, that's another story). AJ and Beth |
