Please forgive the pics quality first off- best of intent but liteing was bad and such but pic taker did the best he could!
U-Haul part # 13238 heavy duty cooler- cost $81.00
We did two CRD's so this is diesel specific but one can see what is going on and adapt to gasser.

Lift off the grills!

Image

Front bumber and front hitch has to be removed- we used a CRD with lots of valance already removed as cooler (8.5X11X .75) gets stuffed in from the bottom.

Image

Image

Small trim cut on base of plastic that holds those ribs, behind said ribs. Rib 5 to inbetween rib 6/7

Image

Looking to see fit- , some of the unit is behind that large cross piece but it still gets air/cooling

Image

That brace holding fan gets 1/8th hole for rivet

Image

proxy position- top of cooler gets brackets- bottom is held by tight fit and hoses-Mine has held for 50K miles already.

Image

Image

bracketing top of cooler to Jeep

Image

Image

Image

Image

here it is all bracketed

Image

Next is looking UP from ground drivers side to left- stock hose to splice into is RETURN line from stock cooling as we are doing an Aux. the input line is behind my hand. We used little tubes with flair ends to keep the line from coming off

Image

finish splcing/ cutting/ hose routing but now drivers side is to the right side if pic(sorry)

Image

Image

HTH-- it really is alot easier than it looks - but I recommend- get the biggest cooler you can fit and get a cooler made of steel as this takes a bit of moving/positioning.

Yep - fabrication of a connection tube- but for CRD # 2, I found a premade connector so we only had to fab up 1 tube connector for the whole fest.
This was all done with a flairing tool.

0311DOC:

I posted on the CRD section but the SAME one you show is the cooler used--

size 7.5 X 11 x .75 ( sheet paper size)

It is huge but it fits (fits tight but fits) - some of the cooler sits behind that crossmember but it still gets cooling/air.

It's right there in the pics, folks for all to see, incl the p\n: HAYDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Available at yer freindly U-HAUL dealer and elsewhere

That's the same cooler sold by B&M and others, usually made in that large heat exchanger factory north of the northern US border - this one appears to be made downunder - altho, by now we should also be getting excellent chinese copies

Europe eh,

TonyCRD: you may have the Hayden/Valley part number or an alternate source like B&M that ships to Europe. Lets help this LOSTER in Europe find a compatible trans cooler.
I will try to search for some company that ships across the pond other wise and if I find anything I will post up. The rest of the parts are general hoses and clamps and brackets...

Hi,
I have found (after EXTENSIVE search...!!) at least CO that ship to Europe: Summit Racing and JEGS.
i ordered a B&M...but realised too late it was far too large (11' x 11'), just talked to Summit. I will mail it back from the US as i will be touring AZ this May.
I want now to order another one: B&M 70273 (11' x 5.75') should be better and still good heat exchange (15'000 BTU)... i guess...

Now.... :juggle: would you know what diameter hose and connectors i should ask for ?......

meanwhile.....still leaking..... :dead: :ROTFL:

thanks a lot !

Not sure. Depends on how much you want to modify. Later on I had a shop add a huge tranny cooler off a semi and sandwich up in the space above the frame rail -- between the AC and the inner-cooler. Did not make much more of a difference than this one did.
