Hey y'all,

I made my intro in the new members area, but I thought I'd introduce myself to you Arizona folks as well. I just purchased a red 2006 Liberty Limited CRD and am in the process of selling my old '93 Cummins Dodge D250. She was a wonderful truck, with only 117k on her, but I need something smaller and with a lighter appetite. Besides, she was only 2-wheel drive. :)

So I guess that makes me a newbie to 4x4s (this is only my second vehicle). Hopefully I'll be able to join y'all on some monthly trips! I don't plan on lifting her, as all the mods I am going to do are geared towards increased mileage/longevity only. But the previous owner loaded her up with skid plates and such, so I should be good for some less-insane trails!

Stoutdog, Welcome to LOST and to the AZ LOST too. Hope to meet you soon. We do a variety of trails so dont worry about the lift. All the members will gladly help teach you the in and outs of responsible off roading.

You remind me of another member we have, Silverdiesel. He's one of our resident CRD mileage guys. (He has some many crd mods it must get him 150 mpg or so, lol). Even after a few years he put a small lift in his jeep.

Again, welcome and hope to see ya on the trails soon.

Mike

Welcome to AZ LOST JEEPS !! Hope to see you on our next trip, July 18th that oldhockeyvb is putting together.

As for what Signcutte21 said... don't worry about a lift. We've had out stock height Liberty on the trails and have kept up pretty good with just skids and good A?T tires. Just goota pick your lines carefully and go slow.

Yeah, Silverdiesel is our resident CRD enthusiast. He'll talk your ear off when it comes to diesel.

Thanks for the welcome!

I'm currently in DC for a Smithsonian internship, so I won't be back to AZ until late August... Ahh grad school. I'll need some guiding on picking my lines, but I look forward to learning!

From what I hear, Silverdiesel is the man I need to be talking with to get what I want out of my CRD. Sounds like ya'll have, all in all, a pretty good group. See ya in August!

Welcome sir!
Pablo, and my self are the current CRD guys right now. PhoenixCRD is an interested diesel owner that will be making the runs soon and there are other former diesel guys like 08K and AZscout that are present in spirit so there is lots of diesel knowledge in the chapter! I just have a big mouth but I am very enthusiastic on the subject.
Of course there's the topic of the KJ parts we share with the gassers so there is alot to talk about there too.

So after August when you get here, join a run and if you are finishing grad school I hope your comps and thesis' go well!

Roland,

Thanks. I might be wracking your brain for knowledge and advice in the coming months, but I'm sure you won't mind. 8)

Look for me over in the CRD forum.

This August (when I get back home to my Jeep in Tallahassee), my father and I are going to go through some basic maintenance stuff - new fuel filter, new serpentine belt, v6airbox/amsoil, clean MAP, 38-40 psi tires, and unplug the fuel heater. We don't know what the previous owner did maintenance wise, so a little prep work is in order before the 2,000 mile drive to AZ.

Should be doubly fun though, cause my father has an '05 CRD and we are doing everything to both vehicles at once. :D
