Yup- my redtop failed me the other day and the diesel would not start-- went to Costco - they had BLUETOP's for $144.95 and with the rebate that puts it at $119.95!-- I was expecting to pay regular price for a replacement redtop at between $119 to 129. So I think I got a good deal. Roland |

BTW - I still kept the old redtop and will attempt to formally recharge it. I took a goofy old battery core for a core return at the time. I am convinced the redtop is OK just needs charging as wheeling in this Jeep mainly means running mostly at a high idle and I may have run down the battery-- Roland |

I still have the original Daimler-Chrysler battery in the Jeep. 6 years 2 months and 145,000 miles later it is still hanging in there. I can tell it is on its last leg though so maybe I will get me an Optima. |

I've been debating getting another one. Had a redtop for many years in the K, bought a yellow top for the CJ or kj dual battery system. Wouldn't ya know it,within a few weeks the red top died. Been looking at another yellow or maybe blue, as well as some more expensive batteries. I've heard that the newer optimas aren't as well made as they used to be and lose their charges faster. Thinking of installing a battery in the trailer to run 12v accessories. That's a great price at Costco for a blue top. Roland, is it the 31 series? Too bad i live in BFE. |

Yes I believe-- 770 cca plus the marine terminals- sizing is what other people have been getting-- Marine terminals are perfect for my winch wiring. Battery looks like it belongs in a tow truck with all those cables coming off it ( I have a drawbar mounted hitch and have cables running to the rear as well as forward- Roland |

Well my Chrysler battery failed me today after a little over 3 years of service. Time to go with an Optima. |
