I'll be in the neighborhood picking up some goodies for my Baja trip. It would be cool to meet some of the AZ folks if anyone'll be around. ...if you can recommend a good place in the area to eat and a good place to camp that would be awesome ![]() |

There's several cool camping sites in the area. Lost Dutchman http://azstateparks.com/parks/LODU/index.html Usery Park http://www.maricopa.gov/parks/Usery/default.aspx I'm busy 11/7 (see the Vet's Day Event thread), but might be able to meet up with you on Sunday. TL |

Have to work Sat, and will be wheelin the buggy on Sunday. A good place to eat is Dirtwater in Apache Junction. It's right off of Apache Trail on the right side if you are headed West. It'll be a few buildings past the 2nd main intersection in Apache Junction. Also if you like Mexican there is a place called Los Gringos Locos that is off of Phelps. If you are headed West on Apache Trail make a left at the 2nd main intersection (Phelps Drive) and it will be on the right. It's right behind the Pizza Hut. Also just across from the Lost Dutchman State Park is the Goldfield Ghost Town. The saloon there has good burgers. Just South of there you'll see a sign that says "Mining Camp Restaurant" at a road that heads towards the mountain. This is one of my fav places to eat. The food is amazing. If you get time stop in the Superstition Mountain Museum. It's on the East side of the road (mountain side) just South of the Ghost Town. It is a really cool place and you can learn about the mountains and history of the area. Hope you like your visit! It's a great time of year. |
