Okay, we have been trying to get a run/get together going for December so here is what I have.

A Toys for Tots run. I have collected for the Toys for Tots program for several years now. I started by combining a run in the LOST NE chapter with a collection of a toy from each person that came to the run. Some folks would even bring a ton of toys.

Here's what I want to do and I want you all to be involved. December is a busy month for all so I propose two dates. Saturday the 19th.

Since we are all strapped for time I have chosen an easy run that should be close to most members. It will be only a half day type run.

The details

When: Dec 19th

Time: 9am

Where: Meet at the Florence McDonalds and follow Neatus into area 32B.
We will head out for some wash running, rough dirt roads etc until we hit the Gila River. Once there we will eat out lunches(brown bag it) chill out and then head out.

What: All who show up will need to bring at least one unwrapped toy per vehicle. Then wheel with your awesome friends. The trails are mild with mostly sand and rough roads. Skids could be useful but not necessary. A lifted KJ could make it with no problems and stock ones should be okay as well. We will be able to see the Coke Ovens from one stop as well.

All who are up for this post the date you can make in this thread. The date with the most votes is the date we will go on.

Lets fill up my Toys for Tots box!

p.s. If you can't make it but still would like to donate a toy then PM me and I will make arrangements to pick it up.

Neatus

Christmas plans clash here-- Family has me captured!
I will be in Texas from the 17th thru the Sunday after Christmas--
But I see this is a worthwhile cause and I hope many AZ LOSTers addend.

I will PM Pres Neatus to make arrangements to get a toy from Silverdiesel to the cause!

Have fun as always and I will even check the National Forum to see what is going on in South Texas and maybe I can make a proxy run there!

Roland

Good cause Ernie!!

Where is area 32B? Is a state land permit required?

I vote for the 19th.

Roland, if you want I could swing by your shop one day this week and pick up your toy.

I do not believe the state land permit is needed here. I will confirm this but I believe the permit is required on the north side of the river. I have mingled with the Game and Fish folks out there and was never asked for my permit(I have one). I have hunted in the area for years. It is south of the coke ovens on the other side of the river.

I have some cool toys for tots presents. When can you come pick them up? Will you also bring me some carne asada and pico de gallo? I can meet you in Houston? :)

Pm or FB your address, I'll send ya some stuff too. Great cause, I'd been trying to do that type of thing.

This month is already shot for me. I can gather some Toys though. Might need to find a way to get them to you prior to the meeting. Any thoughts?

Todd

I have the toys! I'm kinda liking them, though. So I need to know how we can hook-up. Otherwise I'm going to have to start playing with them...

I picked up Roland and Tom's toys just this morning to take down to FJ this coming Saturday. If you want to meet up somewhere between East Mesa and Tempe, I could take yours too. Let me know....

Hmmmm... AJ and Beth in the JK you say?? Or will it be the KJ?? If you tell me the dirt roads are easy enough, we might even try the SI.

What did you find out about state land permits?? I don't know exactly where your taking us, but there is a lot of land just south of the river that is state land (in blue on the map below)....
