Silverdiesl and I are going to run Bulldog Canyon, Wells #46 (M). If your interested, post up. There are a lot of rocks, so.... good A/T tires and full skids are highly recommended. Okay for a stock height KJ if you don't mind scraping bottom a little, a lift would be ideal. When: Jan 15, 2010 Meet: West gate entrance on Usery Pass Road Time: 0900 Length: 8.0 miles, 3~3.5 hours Note: a permit is required for this area. It's free and you can get one at the Mesa Ranger Station, located at: 5140 E. Ingram St, Mesa. The station is located on the west side of Higley Rd between McKellips and Brown. EXTRA CURRICULAR FUN ADDED We decided after the run a few of us are going to go do a little plinking (target shooting) probably out at four peaks. So if this is something that may trip your trigger ![]() ![]() ![]() dynamike AZKJ Silverdiesel Neatus rykkter eyehatetofu dynamike |

I will try and make this with ya AJ. Do I have to go in person to the Mesa ranger station to get my pass? |

Hey, great!! We finally get to see that new monster Jeep. Make sure you comb your hair and look nice for the photo shoot. Don't want you looking all shabby when the pics get published. Better yet, let Vanessa be the model that unveils the beast!! Sorry to say, but you have to get the permits in person. Don't know why because they don't make you read anything, or give you a briefing. Maybe it's just their way to keep the number of permits down by making it an inconvenience for people to get them that don't live close by. You'll like this trail!! ![]() |

Just keep in mind there are a lot of rocks and you feel comfortable with the street tires. |

Thanks for the warning! I will say though that I have hit some pretty rough (and definitely rocky) terrain since I got the Liberty and despite the stock tires I was extremely surprised and impressed with what it handled. Took me places I wouldn't have dreamed of getting to in my 03 F150 4x4. Worst case scenario I'll bring my hiking gear and if the terrain looks worse than what I'm comfortable with I'll do a dayhike while I'm out there since there are plenty of places in that east mesa area. |

Okay great, looking forward to meeting you. But just a heads up... we don't leave anyone behind. If you're not comfortable, we make sure you get back... and not by yourself. |

Sorry for the lack of directions!! I just took it for granted everyone knew the area. Stupid me.... ![]() Here's directions and a map: - from Ellsworth Road in East Mesa go north - cross McKellips Road (from here it is 3.9 miles to Bulldog Canyon West Gate) - Ellsworth changes into Usery Pass Road, just keep going north - You'll pass the entrance to Usery Park on the right - Bulldog Canyon is on the right, 1.6 miles past Usery Park I'm really surprised at the good turnout for a weekday run!! Yahoo!! See every Friday morning at 0900. For the folks that don't have a CB, I have some extra FRS radios you can use. ![]() |
