ASA4WDC Quarterly Board Meeting
March 6, 2010
Blue Water Casino, Parker, Arizona
1:30 pm

There is no way I can make it to this meeting. It is a 4.5 hour drive one way for me and I am helping Gabe get his KJ ready for FITS that day. If anyone can make it to the meeting in my place that would be great. If you can, please PM me.

Ernie

There is going to be a trail run after the meeting. I talked to the Wheel Dust editor and she said she is not sure what trails will be run but she was told that there will be a mix of trails from mild to wild. If you are going and want to wheel than maybe you can just play it by ear and be ready for a run.

Meeting attendance Report and comment. AJ and I was there in attendance.

This meeting this time (my 2nd time now) was alot more to understand and to pass on. These meetings are semiformal and there is a lot time spent on details that it can get a little fidgety sitting there but here goes:
This association is worth it as they render services of a state political lobbyist, an insurance company for land liability, ties to a national lobyist in Wachington DC (!!) for federal issues and even have representation on county and local land/trail issues!
--All of these points are found on the ASA4WDC website for links to i.e. write letters, get more info and such

http://www.ASA4WDC.org

--Get and read the site/associations publication "The Wheel Dust" Has lots of interesting things
--The association is setting up a point/bulletin board and asked for all to forward their club logos, I will forward.
--The group asked clubs to send a roster of paid members and to note new members for a welcome packet with an association sticker for the back window. I spoke with the president and she will send me the welcome packets and I will forward through addresses held by Our Treasurer Dynamike.
--I will talk to Dynamike as to what "official" e-mail to use on the Assc website for timely response as new members can be recruited as they browse the site (you know that "all 4WD welcome, not so hardcore so join us" posture we have).
--Also our AZLOST logo can appear on our club listing.
--Talked about new Trail Closing Threats like AZFWS concern for the "Flattail Horned Lizard" and Maricopa and Pinal County's Trail closing due to Dust Control (!?). The association said they will set links to these guys so that form letters (just fill in a few blanks) can be sent supporting no trail closings. Paid lobbyists are on this too.
--Want ASA4WDC t-shirts?, they are available - PM me sizes/quantity and I will get pricing and ordering- they said shirts would be around $10 to $12 bucks.
--extra ASA4WDC window stickers are on the way for older existing club members but they will kindly ask for a small fee.
--Special current/dated (2010) dash plaques are coming but pricing considered is around $3 but having one is truly club involvement and detication. Again PM me.
-- March 27,28 the assiciation will host a booth at the AZGF expo at Ben Avery shootng park. They say it is a good event to attend, lots of fun and it is free.
--Insurance- a listed official club run or event is covered and they gave me an enhanced Release and Covenant( hold harmless) form. It needs to be tweaked to show AZLOST but I can do this and get copies to Neatus, Dynamike and I can get it as a .PDF so someone can PM me and I will send. It is a really good looking form and they say one needs to be filled out for association insurance to cover. I will ask them for more detail on this but guys, WE have trail, run and event insurance with our involvement in ASA4WDC!!
-- Next meeting in May we will actually meet the lobbyist and insurance agent so this makes for authenticity as these guys do exist and they can tells us direct they support the trail usage and 4 wheeling/tread lightly as not a bad thing and support keeping trails open!!
--This organization is for real and they are on our side and we sit with other rather awesome, organized 4WD clubs that have been around for years and our vote/opinion/voice is just as loud and important as theirs!!!
-- there is more, PM if you need elaboration or details of items not covered here.
-- I am happy to be a delagate to this group and I will try to make all meetings and fellas--Go to the Association website for more detail info.

Roland
