Just got a link from Thomas Ondra regarding a service facility that you can rent a bay with a lift by the hour.

Here's the link. I haven't checked it out yet.

Yeah I saw a link to that place recently as well, went for a drive before work and it is right on 40th St, west side between University and I-10; kind of hidden and the sign outside is small, like a 3'x8' size. Thinking I might go there the next time I need to work on the Jeep.

We used to have a local place similar to that. It was more of a painters place, but you could rent a bay/lift for X$ per hour. You could also buy a package and it included unlimited time/materials and they trained/help you to paint your car, sweet booth too. They eventually went out of business due to high insurance and EPA getting too strict on auto painting materials.

Sounds like someone took the military's Auto Hobby Shop thing they have at most of their bases worldwide and ran with it. Hope he can make a go of it, and not end up like the business in TAHOE's post. It's a good idea for people without a place or tools to work on their stuff.

Yea, I definitely hope its going to be around for a while. I'm going to be replacing some parts in the near future & wouldn't mind the drive if I had the place to do the work other than my garage. It will help me make sure I get it done too & not get sucked back inside to jump on the xbox. :jester:
