AJ, how far west of HWY 12 did you make it ? We have some insider tips and maps, and want to get up on the Aquarius Plateau, maybe west of where you were........
It's good to have the Jeep up and running again....
We were 25 miles south of Torrey on Hwy 12. We took a short 2 mile trail southwest of the Hwy to Oak Creek Reservoir a little over 10,000 feet up. Wish we knew you were up there, maybe we could of hooked up to run a couple of trails with you guys.

I had a breakdown of my own out in the middle of nowhere that left me stuck in 4wd low and 24 miles from town via the highway. A cheap .39 cent plastic bushing that holds the 4wd shifter cable on the transfer case broke letting the cable slip off leaving me stuck in low range. At least now I know how to manually shift it back to 2wd with the cable broken.
From what I've read on the JK forum, it seems to be a fairly common issue, but Superstition Chrysler Jeep played dumb when i stopped by to ask them about it and get a new bushing. I used a C-clip to hold the cable in place until we got home from Utah.
I talked to Joe at Absolute and he never heard of them just breaking like mine did. Gonna go by there sometime this week to see if he can come up with something stronger to prevent this from happening again. The front end of the cable by the shifter also has the same bushing that breaks and is a b1tch to get to. You have to pull the console out etc to get at it. Gotta love the bean counters cutting corners with crappy plastic parts!!
The POS bushing that holds the 4wd shifter cable on....
