The day before AJ passed he mentioned to me and his wife Beth to do a trail run and throw a few ashes on one of his favorite trails, Montana Mountain. He loved Arizona and ran as many trails as the guide book authors did and ran scenic areas not listed in any book like the trails around Young, Az.
From Kingman and the Mohave Trail to Moab and trails on the Reservation, to Yuma, KOFA, El Camino del Diablo to the Reddington Road trails outside Tucson, thru Box Canyon and Walnut Canyon in FJ and the trails Signcutter21 showed literally on the Mexican Border and Douglas, AJ was there loving every minute.
He liked Montana Mountain cause of the incredible scenery and the fact this is the very first trail he did with his first TJ back in the Nineties. So it is to be now the last trail he does.

What: Montana Mountain Scenic trail Outside Superior, AZ In the Wells Book and I believe it is rated easy to medium.
Meet where: Shell Station Gold Canyon, on US60.
When: Sunday August 29 congregate at 0800 depart at 0830
Time around 6 hours max. We will have a very short service and memorial at the summit and be done off the trail by 1430.
Requirements: Stocker OK but A/T tires and underprotection/ rails a good idea.
Good idea to pack a lunch if you get hungry like me.

Lets see all we can out there and I know persons that work on Sunday and cannot make it and I am sorry for that.

List your attendance even if you cannot make it so your name can go on the honor list.
Rest in Peace AJ.

Thank you so much Roland, Katie, Alli, Paul for making yesterday a good day. It is hard to leave him there but it is what he loved to do and where he would want to be. I will be going to Silverton, CO the end of the week with my cousin from the UK and with AJ's Air Force buddy from way back when they first signed up. They have been going with us for about 10 years. We are going to leave the rest of AJ's ashes there. He sure loved CO too. I didn't know how many books, maps and stuff of trails he had until I started to clear it out. He sure loved this LOST group. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers and when I get back to the Valley one day maybe we can all go on a trail. I will miss you all. Beth
