I believe it is time to start a conversation about closing out the books on the AZ LOSTJEEPS chapter as an organized club with officers, dues, and a budget. Club participation is down and the term of all the club officers has expired with no apparent interest in new ones being elected. This does not mean we cannot continue to exist as a loosely organized internet club only that we will no longer have funds and access to insurance for major events. The main conversation that needs to take place is what to do with the remaining funds accumulated by AZLOST JEEPS. I would recommend two ideas- one designate a set amount of money for a last hurrah for club members, probably a trick or jeep type event, second donate the remaining funds to organizations supporting our sport such as blue ribbon, AZ state association of 4WD clubs, United 4WD, etc. I would like to develop a consensus of opinion of what to do with the remaining club funds. We were not a rich club but we had a decent budget to work with annually. What ideas does everyone else have?

Like Minds going on here.

I posted very similar thoughts on the Officers' Forum not 1 week ago.
I mainly posted to say I still want to make the ASA4WDC Quarterlys to keep informed first hand and if any thing significant comes up I can report as FYI to any one interested. I am going to sign up and pay as an individual member(Liberty really does not fit into those other association clubs mostly). My interest is genuine to help protect and support the sport of using off road trails in Arizona.
The next meeting is this Saturday.
In the forum I suggested remaining club funds go to ASA4WDC and then channel to Blue Ribbon or United.
Your Idea of using Remaining Funds to bolster a TorJ/FITS this Fall is not bad either...
I can only say that maybe a large push to a funded event may spark things up again.
Use the funds to promote the sport or to promote a finale event is a grand idea either way.
If things ever get started again we can (wait for it!)...start to collect funds all over again!! Wow what a concept!
And Vern what ever help you need I can do what I can to support.

PS You know diesels go for 300,000 miles plus so I will be LOSTing for a long time yet!

Oh Yeah,
Vern is correct to say we lost our event insurance by dropping out of the association so a lot of things are changing with a "no club" profile...

Whoa, I log into the board periodically to see what is going on and this time around find this thread. :(

I'm probably one of the last people to provide commentary, having been inactive for the last year+, but . . .

I agree with Vern and Roland. Disperse the remaining club funds to one of or all three of the mentioned organizations. Put the money where ever it will do the most good for the 4WD community. I'm not apposed to having a club funded last hora. But, if lack of interest is the main problem would anyone show up?

Hey everyone,

Yeah, it seems like we are all into different things these days. Our daughter just turned 6 mos. old. It'll be a little while till I'm back on the trails.

I agree that the funds should go to the org's mentioned above.

I also vote for sending the funds to a supporting group.

I am in agreement....we should get the funds out to do some good. We should still try and get together as mentioned earlier as a loosly based group. If we do ever get enough interest drummed up we will surely be able to figure a way to drum up more cash. Sorry to all that it has come to this but we are just too small to act like a big ol club. I would support half of the money going to BRC and the other half staying in AZ with the ASA4WDC......just my two pesos.

Well I hate bouncing in on this way late and I'm also not one to talk. I agree with the dispersion of the funds as well.

I wish I could participate in the club as much as I used to but it just doesn't seem to happen anymore. Really stinks too.
