Post subject:  Skids for my Libby

I don't have the time to put skids on my Liberty so I'm going to take it to a dealer. I'm planning on the factory skids because they fit the budget. Any recommendations on a Jeep dealer to take it to?

Hi. Do you live in phoenix? Do you already have the skids and just need them put on? Let me know and i'm sure i can help/show you how to put them on. If it is just a time issue, it does not take that long. Let me know.

I don't have the skids, was going to buy them from the dealer. Kinda trying to get to know a dealer because I will hopefully be buying a CRD sometime this year. My wife and I just moved to Phoenix. Time is a consideration as is the problem of not having anywhere but the parking lot of my apt complex to bolt them up at. And most of my tools are in a storage unit in ND. I thought the easiest thing would be to drop the Libby off and have them installed, but I am open to suggestions.

Bill Luke is the dealer were I bought my Renegade and they are OK, no complaints. So far have only had a windows tinting issue and the tranny recall fixed by them.
Moore seems OK, but I have only had the initial oil change done there to avoid the factory installed oil filter.
If you just need tools and a place, I'm sure I/we can help you out there to.

I live by Central and the 101, are you anywhere by there? What all skids are you getting? Do you already have the female nutzert installed in your frame? If so then i'm sure we can save you some cash by just putting them on ourselves. I could always swing by and check it out. Let me know.

Thanks for the replies and the offers for help. I live by 101 and N 27th Ave. I haven't ordered the skids yet, I'll be ordering them this week.

I was on JParts looking for the skids and found the gas tank and engine skids for an 02. I didn't find the transmission or t-case skids. Can I use the later model transmission and t-case skids on my 02?

I just got my skids(Mopar) put on yesterday. Got them from JParts and mine came with everything I needed. If you get some I'd be glad to you, you could swing by my house and
use the garage and tools. I put on all 4 in about 3 hours, but that wasn't really busting
my butt.

I don't believe Mopar makes a tranny skid. At least they didn't when I wanted one for my '02. I got a mopar tcase skid, although I think I've heard there were problems with back orders for a while. Go to boulderbars.com for your tranny skid. They are the best, you won't be sorry. I'd be careful putting in later years on the 2002. Especially the tranny skid I know is different from boulderbars.

I don not believe the later models will fit the 05 either. Vern gave you awesome advice about the BB trany skid, you can not beat that skid for the KJ it is grenade proof. When you get your skids just let me know if you need help putting them on and i'll help. There are alot of people here that will help. The dealer will rip ya for just bolting something on. Need help just let me know. Cya
