I will be there by the night of the 21st. Just gotta find a place to camp yet. I don't have any suggestions on motels at all.

Okay, I just booked a room for the night of the 22nd at the Jameson Inn (2720 Dawson Rd, Albany, GA 31707).

While I have not stayed at this particular one, I have had good luck with Jameson Inns when I have been traveling before.

I was thinking about this again last night, and depending on when Terry gets there, I figure you and I caravan down there early, maybe meet Terry, go wheeling for the late morning-early afternoon, all go meet Mike at the motel, and have a light dinner. Then, as Terry suggests, do a night run if possible, then run again in the morning and head back to ATL in the afternoon for you to prep to leave town and me to go to work the next morning.

Sound like a plan?

Sounds like a plan to me.

UPDATE ... I should be able to make it to Albany by about 2pm. I'll be coming from JAX. As long as my flight isn't delayed I get in at 10:40am. According to GoogleMaps it's about 3 1/2 drive (which is really 3 hours)

I need an address so I can use my GPS. There is a Jail across the road that would work. Can someone look it up and PM it to me.

Problem is there look to be 3-4 different detention facilities in Albany...

Look for one on Blaylock Street. Not sure on that spelling.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I think I'll try getting into the campground at the Marine Base. If so it's pretty close.

Cool. I'll touch base with Greg, but my goal is to be down there as early as we can muster on Mon morning. I am not a fan of wheeling in the afternoon sun with no cover...

Terry, Sounds good. I'll PM the phone list tonight to everyone who has confirmed going.

Greg and I will be down as early as we can. I am showing about 200 miles door-to-door for me.

Greg, since I am on the East side and you are on the Northwest, I figure the best bet is to meet up in Stockbridge (where I-75 & I-675 meet). Somewhere on GA-138 (Stockbridge Rd.). What time?

Channels 8/16 work for everyone?

Channel 16 is usually SSB which can cause some problems. Usually people use Ch.4. Just a thought.

Ooppsss, I forgot that about CH.16 being single side band. CH.4 should be fine since it is a weekday (I try to stay away from it with organized groups if there are a lot of other groups around since everybody uses it, but we should be fine.) CH. 4/8 then?

Excellent!!!!

Also, I did some "scouting" (gotta love Google Maps) and came up with the following address -- 1102 Ball Park Ln Albany, GA 31705

See if this is where we need to be?

That would be the address I think. The ball park is at the one boundary of where we ride. Take that road and go down to the ball park where there is a huge parking lot. There is a sign where the road meets Blaylock, so look for it on your left. Now that I have a reservation at the USMC base I know how to get there.
