Not sure about the Tifton area, but there are a few of us members smattered around the state, mostly located in the Atlanta and Athens Metro areas.

4x2 is fine for many trips, the big factor would be ensuring that the person in front of you on the run has good towing capacity :)

You might want to check out the Florida or Southern sites for offroad parks nearer than North GA. I have a hunter co-worker from Moultrie (a SHO'-'NUF redneck) that may know where some good wildlife management roads are. My son's girlfriend's family is from Meigs and may know something. Keep checking here and the other website (JeepKJ Country) for info...and good luck.
