I read that Jet only tunes their chips to WOT, hence it will do nothing for day to day driving, unless you drive like Mario Andretti all the time.

KYLiberty, In answer to your question i ran a 16.9 at 80.2. i am not 100% sure about the mph but i think that is what it was. that was before i had the mtrs on but i was running cooper A/Ts on it 245/75/16.

16.9 is right at stock with 235/70/16's. That's pretty good with 245/75R16's. I wonder how much the extra weight of the MTRs will slow it down. I didn't have very good luck with a stage 1. It dropped 5 peak horsepower, and made it run too rich. I'd like to see what it runs with those MTR's.

I installed the Jet Performance chip Stage 1 and noticed a big difference in RPM revs. Revs are now higher and faster. MPG didn't really change. The only thing is Jet recommends you using 93 octane to get the best performance. You can still use low or mid grade fuel. I also installed the K&N Intake which also added to the performance. Bosch +4 spark plugs are awesome too; woke up the jeep. My next mod will be a cat back Flowmaster 40 or Cherry Bomb exhaust. Not sure which to go with yet. Rusty's has them both for $250 which is a good deal.

I have the stage 2 and I think its awsome. I'm actually selling it, if anyones interested, because the wife thinks its to much power and she says she wants the jeep to be what it was before. In my opinion it does make it run rich , but if you open up the intake and exhaust the mixture will be just right and it is noticible by the but o meter. This chip will NOT make your libby do a wheelie, but it is definatly a step in the right directon. There are better ways to retune the computer such as the BG fash, but this is an awsome out of box chip, definatly not a joke, but also not for everybody as some ppl think you can plug in a computer chip and turn your vehicle into a vet. I notice the most usefull power gains higher in the rpm range and mostly on the interstate. Passing and towing on the intersate is very much improved.....this chip gave me all the power back that I L.O.S.T. by going to 265/75's.....this is all just my opinion......if anyone lives near tampa and wants to borrow the chip to try it out before you buy one just let me know and we'll put it in so yo can try for yourself....thanks, joe

Maybe it works better on the newer PCM. The newer KJs use a different model number than the old KJs, and I've heard some good stories. However, on mine it shifted differently, and rev'd differently, but it made 5 hp less on the dyno with the stage 1 than the stock PCM. Jet's explanation when I offered the chip and dyno sheets to them to reprogram was that the K&N filter, and Borla exhaust which were the only other mods at the time caused it to make less power than without it. That was between saying that I must have bought a defective chip off Ebay, and offering to make a custom chip for $400 more since the new chip I had the receipt for didn't actually work, and they wouldn't need the dyno sheets to do it. Not sure how they expected to do that. It just acted a little sportier, but actually was a little slower and less powerful.
