Anyone care to help me with a choice. On a stock 05 KJ what is the largest size wheels and tires that you can use without scrubbing? Anythoughts on Micky Tompsons New Tires?

Here is the link you need to read on tire sizes http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=958 It says BFG on top but it workd for all tires. But a 245/70 R 16 is as big as you can go stock.

Most of us here have off-road thinking so i want to ask this question.

Are you talking about big rim bling bling or just bigger tires?

I'm running 245/65R17's on my '01 with 17X7.5" rims from an '05 Liberty Limited, and used to run 245/70R16's on the stock 16X7" rims. The 16's just barely rubbed on the fog light door, with the outer edge of the tire at full lock when they were brand new. The 17's barely rubbed the pinch weld when brand new at full lock. I think with an '05, you'll only be able to get 235/70R16's, or 235/65R17's on it with the same results. Turn your wheels to full lock both directions and check your clearance for the fog light door, and the pinch weld. I think I'm going to get some HD OME coils, flatten the pinch weld, and go to some 255/65R17's next. I don't do any off-roading, but we do get ice storms here, I go out to the farm sometimes, and I go skiing every weekend during the winter.

Do you mean 245/70R16's? I would think 245/75R16's would rub alot on a stock Liberty. I've seen KJ's on cardomain that are running 20's. I think the lowest profile I would go with on a KJ would be 255/55R18's on 18X8.5" rims, but that's just my opinion.

a buddy of mine runs 20" wheels on his 02 with a 2.5" spacer lift... very minimal or non existant rubbing

He could be runing 245/75's? When I'm at the dealer...I'm amazed at the diff spring heights.

If you want offroad "little beef" stand some LT 225/75 M/T's next to everything else. See what ya think.

They will still rub
