Has anyone taken out thier stock speakers? My KJ is new, and I dont want to rip up my door panels. How do I get them off?

Has anyone taken out thier stock speakers? My KJ is new, and I dont want to rip up my door panels. How do I get them off?

kjkop, I replaced my door speakers awhile ago. It is a pretty simple job. First you will need to remove the screw in the arm rest. The panel is held to the door by plastic clips around the edge. Carefully pry them off the door. You can get a special tool for them but a screwdriver will do just fine. You will be able to feel around for where they are. I don't remember what happens with the door lock switch. It should be obvious what to do with it when you have the clips off. Hope this helps. Joe |

To add to the previous post, if you are trying to amplify the door speakers and run a more upgraded system then you will need to bypass the stock amplifier. |
