I know some people have been looking for some sound clips of the flowmaster 50, so I made one real quick. Heres the clip (video & sound, don't know how to get just sound): http://choicetoolsupply.com/kj/flowmaster/flowmaster_50.mov (MOV format, 3.0mb) |

I noticed its not just the muffler...is that the Rusty's kit? I like that look, and it sounds great. |

Yeah, its the Rusty's system, I don't really like the look of chrome, but its real subtle, so it looks nice to me, not too blingy and sounds really good too. |

I couldn't get it to work simply by clicking the link, but if you right click it and save target as it will load it on to your computer and should work then. |

OMG!!!!! That sounds awsome....I'm calling to get one right now. Is it a direct replacement? or do I have to go to a place to have them put it in? I was just looking on the website and is it the Flowmaster 50 SUV performance muffler? or the Delta? HD? I want to know so I can get the right one with the right sound. Thanks |

Sounds great. You should have revved your engine and did a couple burn-outs, so we could get the full effect. |

What are the differences (performance and sound) between the muffler and the exhaust system? Does a mandrel bend tail pipe make a big difference ($170)? |

An exhaust system is bolted-on from the cat-back, while a lone muffler will need to be welded in place of the existing muffler. The only performance benefit of a cat-back system is the less restrictive tubing. Not sure about sound. According to Rustys Offroard: Quote: Mandrel bends offer 35 to 40% increase in flow compared to stock bent pipes.
What are the differences (performance and sound) between the muffler and the exhaust system? Does a mandrel bend tail pipe make a big difference$170?
no you are just wasting money if you get another tail pipe. theres nothing you can do to a 3.7 in order to have it make more power than is supported by the existing tailpipe size. im sure a small measureable amount of power can be gained in the CRD, turbos can use all the breathing you can give them, since that will only make it spool up faster. the entire exhaust is properly sized except for the pinch down prior to the muffler and the muffler itself. |

He got a 3 chamber one. I can't even find a 50 Delta flow 2-chamber on Flowmaster's website or summitracing.com. Do they even exist? Maybe as racing mufflers...definitely not for the KJ. |

Has anyone tried the hushpower flowmaster. I like how much it will tuck up, just don't want a loud one. |

Take a look at the middle of the page, it shows a relative scale of the sound levels found on their mufflers. Hushpower lands somewhere between the super 40/40 delta and the 50 delta. http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/mufflers.html |
