I was on summitracing.com and noticed magnaflow makes a cat back stainless exhaust kit for the liberty. Does anyone have any experience with it? what would be the advantages to running a full cat back instead of just an aftermarket muffler? I have heard that the liberty already has mandrel bent exhaust stock, which is usually one of the big improvements of a cat back. Is that true?

I too am interested in the magnaflow. I'm seeing more people using them now. I thought about a flowmaster 40 or 50 series but now I think I may save my money and go with the magnaflow.

Your better off with the magnaflow over the flowmaster 40 seres, the 40 resinates and drones inside the vehicle, it's about the loudest muffler, but you pay for it inside.

dont waste your time with a cat back, just change the muffler and make sure they make the pipe right infront of the muffler the same size as the rest of the system. thats the only restriction besides the muffler itself

i believe magnaflow is all stainless steel inside and out.... i have a flowmaster 50 and it is alumanized.. which will rust and rot WAY faster than the magnaflow system *or muffler* would. Although if you live where the winters are mild and you dont get salt on the roads.. the stainless steel vs. alumanized factor shouldnt matter.

Look at the aeroturbine before making your final decision. The aeroturbine has real technology that increases the flow by a vacuum effect. I put one on my Dodge Cummins and increased my mileage by 2-3 miles per gallon.

I’m not sure, my CRD was 2 1/2" except where it narrowed down to 2” at the muffler. I think the gasser is the same. I will go out and measure.

Yep, I double checked and it’s 2 ½”. The factory exhaust is pretty good. I’m going to put the aeroturbine muffler/resonated 2.5" 2525XL on my Liberty.
