Would it be ok on the tranny to launch in Full-time AWD? Up to what speeds is the AWD supposed to be viable until?

Do not launch it if you don't have a stall converter. It is very hard on the stock torque converter. It works alot better with a shift kit and the torque management deleted too. You need a 45rfe transmission. The necessary upgrades simply aren't available for the 42rle. I launch in 2wd at around 2500 rpm. This causes it to shift the weight back onto the rear wheels, and it hooks up really well with the limited slip and the 245's. With my setup, if I launch at a lower rpm it bogs down and doesn't get off the line as quick as just flooring it. If I launch much higher than that, I have to let off the gas or it will just roast both rear tires all the way through 1st and 2nd.

Edit: You can now get a stall converter and shift kit for the 42rle from APS. Add a B&G flash and you'll be able to launch with the 42rle.
