I got the flowmaster, 50 SUV but the chart on the box shows it very low near OEM muffler.. is that right? Yours sounded different..
Are you gonna post a drive by video? If this won't sound any better than the stock muffler, I am sending it back.. :x

Trust me, it sounds different than the stock muffler! Its louder from all aspects! It does drone alittle with the windows down and the rpms around 1800-2200.. But with the windows up or driving down the hw, you can hardly hear it unless you get on it.

Mine seems to of changed for the good after about two-three weeks of driving.. Its not as loud but still alot deeper than the stock exhaust..

In the end - did it end up a Magnaflow 50 SUV? Cat back or muffler only?

Any one check the dual exhaust Borla? (part # 14999 if you wanna hunt for it on ebay)

There's no point in the Borla unless you want to spend $800 for looks. There's not enough in the 3.7L. I'm sure you've read the threads - there's no point in a catback system either. Stock & aftermarket are 2.5" pipes. I went with the Magnaflow on the recommendations of a few people here & I love it! Not too loud, but not close to stock - very nice sound. Muffler purchased and installed for <$140! :D

What muffles will give me that tone? Ive heard the flow master 40 in person on a liberty and it sounds like crap..

Ohh, I know this is on a cherokee, but thats the tone that I want.

I know this was from a long time ago but that cherokee obvisously had a v8 which will not compare at all to the sound of your kj

I see Cherokee's with V-8's all the time, they where very common, and no I don't mean XJ's,there was many FSJ's with the badge "Cherokee" attached to them.

Well it was obvious to me because i've never heard v6/i6 keep that low of a growl/tone when reving, idling some do but i've never heard one stay low they all seem to get higher. And most 6 cylinder engines throughout the jeeps are relatively close in liter size and i know my kj wouldn't sound like this with any type of muffler on it my '90 silverado with a 5.7 350 does but its a v8

Did you notice a power or fuel mpg difference when switching to the Flowmaster from stock?
