Hi all,
I was chearching over the net for a Turbo Charge for the Liberty, and found this company http://www.ststurbo.com/home
any one tried to contact them if they have made anything for the Liberty, I saw that they are making universal systems, so may be one of them will fit.

I sent them e mail asking about one for mine, and waiting thier rebly.

I heard the 3.7 doesn't take well to forced induction, something about the pistons. So the pistons would have to be swapped out as well. It would start to get pretty pricey for a vehicle that isn't designed to be a dragster in the first place.

You can use the universal turbo kit from them. You will just need to do all the custom pipe work, some custom cams probably around 224's, forged pistons, and a turbo flash from B&G.

I've looked into it for the 3.7 short block sitting in my garage. I'm still trying to decide between a supercharger, a turbo, or a big direct N2O shot. That motor is going to be wicked when it's finally rebuilt. On the motor in the Libby right now, I'm just planning on going to some 206 cams and ported heads once JBA gets my headers done.

I'll just give you some advice. If you can't come up with a Liberty-specific turbo kit that has alot of successful installs and a great company behind the product, I WOULD NOT DO IT!!!! Forced induction is a tricky beast and the difference between a well-tuned and a blown motor can be very fine. A few % lean on your AFR under boost and you can bend rods, etc. *If you don't know what AFR is, please do some research ASAP to help you make an informed decision. And from everything I read, the stock Libby motor has weak internals so you are going to have to do alot more than just slap a turbo on it. Well, you could, but it wouldn't last that long. There is a huge difference between slapping a CAI and headers on a motor and going FI. That can't be understated.

I've built a few boosted cars with race proven parts with complete engine rebuilds and I've still smoked motors. A few seconds of ECU hiccup cost me a complete motor once. I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just letting you know the realities of going FI. I don't know how many people here on L.O.S.T. have experience building boosted motors (since the suspension is the main focus of a Libby), so I don't know how much info you are going to get here. You might have to check out some articles on boosting cars to get a true idea about how complex it really is. If you do boost, plan on spending a few hundred dollars just on a dyno to get the tune right. There's alot more expense in it than just the parts.

That's why I'm only looking at forced induction on the motor sitting in the garage. If I go with boost, I'll probably use a Paxton supercharger since there are kits for the 4.7 using it. If I rebuild it, I'll still have the motor that's in the Libby now to drop back in it when I blow up the race motor again.

Hi,

With our Innovative Remote mount Turbo Technology, You can put a Turbo on any Vehicle. I can Put together a kit for you that will Deliver all the Boost your vehicle can handle for $2999. If this sounds like what you have been looking for, Please call me and I will go over the details with you.

Thanks,

I think (not sure) that with some little more modifications to the engine before you can put any single horsepower to any engine, so if I'm going to get that kit definitly I'll make custom mods to the cams & or heads,
Any way I'll contact him again and see what is other mods that should be made to a very stock engine.

KY Liberty:
I like your way, keep it going. :D

If you detonate you can bend a rod. Running lean can cause detonation.
