I haven't done it myself, but I've read a lot of people on here going to a 40 series. They say it has a nice rumble sound to it. I think there is a sound clip on here somewhere, but I can't remember what section.

Speaking of Flowmaster, I haven't seen much (any?) discussion of the Flowmaster Extreme Off-Road Series Muffler - it would seem to be ideal for our application, and they look pretty cool ;-)

Is there a reason people are not using them? Or are they? :D

Heck the 40's and 50's are like their own sturdy little skidplates and tuck up higher than the stocker. Would the Extreme Offroad be overkill?

My regular 40 series are holding up just fine in the rocks out here. I don't see any reason yet to pay more for the fancier, more expensive, extreme version.

40 is louder than 50. So gotta make sure how much noise you need in the cabin.
There are few topics with videos and sound clips as well.
40 DELTA should be a good choice. We had a topic regarding "Rusty's Flowmaster System" for liberty with Delta 40 option on it.

From what i can tell, the "Extreme Offroad" is based on the 40 Delta Flow, so would be $10 more at Summit Racing.

The 50 Delta Flow is $8 more than that so the Extreme is about mid-way between the two.

They claim "10 times the crush strength of standard OE-style mufflers"... I'd pay $10 for that, but then I back into poles so...

Plus, did I mention it looks cool? ;-)

Anyways I'm not arguing for or against any at this point, but I am beginning to research mufflers myself. I also appreciate other's input and experiences.

I have the 50 SUV series and wouldnt change a thing. I guess its based on what you like, but I would never want mine any louder.

Can anyone explain to me how you can get more HP from a muffler? And dont say its b/c the flowmaster flows better, I can see straight through my stock muffler but the flowmaster has 3 chambers.. Anyone know an answer to that?
