I was wondering if any of the mopar magnum crate motors would bolt up. heres the link to the site http://www.mopar.com/performance/features/crateengines/index.html if anyone would be able to tell me what it would take to throw in one that would be great. Obviouslly a new trans, shafts, and rear would be a must.

I think it would be much easier and wiser to buy a Jeep GC/Commander with a HEMI. You would basically have to replace the whole drivetrain. The front axle and tranny (2003+) won't handle the HP/Torque of a V8.

The front differential probably wouldn't like the increased torque either. Do a solid front axle swap first

i was anticipating the need for a new drivetrain and ive got an un-named person; on an un-named military base; in an "mechanically inclined" MOS that would be willing to "salvage" a set half shafts from a HMMWV that he assures me after a bit of milling and fab time will be more than sufficient to work for the front end. danna 44 in the back. Trans havnt figured that out yet; and custom built shafts for the back end. Now keep in mind this is all hypothetical. The bigest problem im seeing is the motor matching up to the mounts. I can peice together parts kits for the rest but the mounts i dont really want to screw around with because of the lack of frame rails. So if anyone know if it would wourk without changing mount position let me know. Still dont know if i would ever do it but its something cool to think about and someday possibly make happen.
