I just checked over at JBA's website and searched for products for my Lib ('04 V6 gas). Their application chart said that their headers WOULD fit my year! But, from what I've seen here on the forum, their headers do NOT fit anything older than '05. :?
So, what's the deal? Do JBA's fit an '04, or is there some kind of issue with fitting/leaking? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've got a set of them sitting in a box. No one will even look at installing them for me around here until it hits 80k miles or 8 years. Only a little over 65k miles and 6 years right now. They will not bolt on for the '02-'04.

I have 03 Liberty, and I already installed the JBA's headers on it. They just manufacture a new Y-Pipe, it cost me only SAR, 500.00 which is $135 Only.
I don't know what is the problem in US Liberty, as I am from Middle East. 8)

No one wants to modify the connections to the cats because they're afraid of getting a $2500 fine for each one. Removing the cats gets they same fines. I haven't been able to find anyone around here that will go near them until the cats have 8 years, or 80k miles on them because of the laws.

Funny you should mention that. I spent some time talking to RL today. I'm going to order a Frankenlift II Premium before the weekend. I'm going to get the front bumper when they're ready. Was just about to post in the 4X4 section and get some input on tires and rims, trimming, etc...

You know if you go wheelin and perhaps get the cat hung on a rock, then I guess you may have have to replace it sooner.

I don't have a pic but the reason is they changed how the Y-pipe connects to the OEM manifolds in '05.The '02-'04's use a band clamp(like a hose clamp) style ends and the '05+'s use a bolt on style. The cheapest I've found the Y-pipe for yet is just under $1200,Chysler is pretty proud of those cats  .

This is killing me. I'm really patient, but I've been trying to get headers on the KJ for over 6 years. I've even owned some for almost a year now. I need them for the cams upgrade. That's why I'm going ahead and lifting it, and doing the rest of the body work. I ordered the lift and a-arms today. At least I'll get the performance back in 15k miles when I can do the motor build that I actually want.

KY Liberty,
Do you mean it is illegal to change the Y-Pipe in the US?
If it is NOT, I can send you one from here and it will cost you less than $200.
BTW, it is Stainless Steal, and you will get a 5 years warranty also.

I'll need to talk to the mechanics to see if they can replace the Y-Pipe without problems. That sounds like a possible solution though.
