Am I confussed or is the Truetrac only for the front?
No,they make them for the rear 8.25.The DTT works much better in front applications though.I'd just get the rear Detroit Locker and be done with it,it will out last the KJ,has over 40 years of testing so it is tried and true, and is stronger then a lunchbox style locker.Yes it cost's more to install since it is a full carrier replacement but in the long run you will be much happier with it then a lunchbox locker.

it shouldnt cost him anymore because he is wanting to do 4.10 gears also

gears, DL, DTT, ARB will all require professional install, the powertrax or Aussie are a simple DIY, so it all depends on what locker you want on how you should do it, but DO NOT buy lockers and pay to install them and then decide to do gears bc then you are paying for the same thing twice! trust me I know!!

Ok i know this has gone on and on about gears and lockers..... But where to actually get the gears? Over on Yukon gear and axle. There are 4.11 gears for the 8.25 diff, but not 4.10s. Is there really a difference? Is there another place that will be just as good/ cheaper? What else will i need? Master install kit? My neighbor is a mechanic and said he would put my gears in for a small fee. I tell you it's nice to know people  Thanks guys!!!!!

this is where I bought my 8.25 ring and pinion and overhaul, they are the cheapest Ive found.

http://nationaldrivetrain.com/shopsite_ ... r_825.html

I dont see the rebuild on there anymore so I would call and ask if they have any if not,

http://www.justdifferentials.com/index. ... ts_id=1530

has them for a good price.
