Take a look at this thread:
Thrush Turbo

TJKJ and I both posted some sound clips there along with the hardware needed to DIY.

haha, just a guess, but I would say a glass pack would sound like crap on a liberty.

Best go with something thats already been tried on a liberty and not something a guy at the local muffler shop thinks would sound good.

The Thrush muffler sounds just a tad better then a flowmaster at 1/3 of the cost, the magnaflow ultra flow race muffler(the 12" one) sounds even better then both at about 1/2 the price.Sounds clips do no justice for mufflers, and yes I've heard a flowmaster 40 on a KJ(USAFCOP has one installed, sounds just like the super44).

Purely a personal preference. The Thrush sounds like an import car muffler to me and magnaflow aren't very loud from what I have seen. Different people like different things. There are quite a few sound clips floating around.

I vote flowmaster! Magnaflow has a good sound, but not very loud. just a lil louder than stock. I go with a flowmaster 44, 40, or 50 SUV. preference in that order.

What MagnaFlow you talking about? The UltraFlow race mufflers are louder then the 40 or 44,really loud if you get the 12" one.

Well I am not sure as to which one fulltimer is running on his rig, but that was the one i was referring to. I'm not sure if he has the whole cat-back, or just the muffler. It sounds great, deep-mellow tone, without being too loud.

I have noticed this on many other trucks with them. But I'm sure they do make some loud ones, and especially a 12" one, thats got to be pretty loud.

I am running an 18" Magnaflow, forget the part number at the moment, but I love it.
Its got a nice rumble at idle, and gets really loud when I stomp on it.. Then again, I have no tailpipe (oval shaped factory tailpipe didnt fit in round muffler outlet  )

Ive had too many failures of Flowmaster mufflers, and my Ranger is getting a Magnaflow in the spring so all my vehicles will be running them (car also has one). (Wifey is getting one put on her Patriot when it arrives, too, although she doesnt know it yet  )

Yes. All years of the KJ are 2.5" in and 2.5" out.

now is there a difference in sound between the regular flowmaster 44 and the offroad one?
