Does anybody have some slot drilled rotors that are zinc plated with silver coating? If so how do they work, as in are they good, bad, or ugly?

I tend to stay away from drilled rotors. They can cause microscopic cracks, when not cooled propperly, and has been proven to fail in race applications. Personally the Frozen rotors / power slot with Hawk pads provide the best braking I have found.

slotted and drilled rotors will do nothing for you unless you have a set of brake pads with a really high coefficiant of friction, and you need to dicipate mad heat. if your looking for better breaking, you might want to step up the pads first.

KJ Kyle: I wish you were right, I did upgrade my brake pads I have the Hawk Pads. But I need new Rotors because my OEM aka stock rotors are so warped and shaved that I need new ones.

The Hawk pads have earned me the nickname "Squeaky" on the trail.

So great to be wheeling with a pile of topless CJs, TJs, YJs, and JKs and be able to have the windows up and the AC blowing...and the only sound you hear is XM radio and people on the CB saying "What the hell is that noise?"

"Betcha wish you could do that!"
"Betcha wish you had power windows, AC, and satellite radio!"

I too avoid drilled rotors.

drilled rotors remove mass to save weight but they also take away metal. That metal actually functions like a heat sink to absorb the friction and keep you stopping.

Slots are fine in my book

the slots are there to run off water to prevent water fade, the holes are drilled to dicipate heat, i dont think its to save weight. and if you have aftermarket pads which are warping your rotors because of the higher coeficiant of friction, yes cross drilled rotors will help.

You should read up on these articles.

Brake Systems Explained

Holes in brake rotors are a bad idea. You'll look cool but that doesn't mean you will be stopping better.

I have slotted rotors in the front and they were a waste of money cause they warped just like the factory ones did. They look good but not worth the expensive price.
