You guys will have pics in this thread of the mechanical aspects within the next month.

I will not be replacing the factory wiring harness. Will re-pin the existing injector and coil plugs, and add two more cylinders in at the appropriate pins on the ECM. That is all that is necessary. Doing it any other way, you have to cut and splice somewhere around 30 wires to make the connectors for the 4.7 plug into the existing body side connectors on the 3.7

Also will be doing custom exhaust manifolds to fit to factory cats, if I cannot find bolt-in cast ones.

The build thread will be done fully once it is up and running, tested, and passed emissions. I want to do a start to finish thread with no interruptions so everyone's thoughts can be expressed after they've fully read it in the first page or two, rather than scrolling through 8 pages.

Once done, All I can offer is the tech on how-to, the costs of parts less cost of engine. Engine prices vary, so that will be left to your imagination.

This is a link to the thread on JeepKJ.com regarding my 4.7 swap. When finished, I will do a complete how-to in a new thread.

I will not be posting a thread on this forum on how to do it. My camera takes pictures a certain size, and my computer uploads them that size. I'm flat out not taking the effort to resize them for this site, as 90% of the rest of the sites out there automatically resize them when linked.

I am interested in doing this with my Liberty, however I want to keep the NV3550 transmission, can anyone see issues with it bolting to the 4.7 compared to the 3.7? Saw someone ask about manuals with this swap but not much for answers.

That's extremely cool! But don't you want to start a new thread?
