| Post subject: | New Problem with Differential |
Okay remember a while back I had posted I had a problem that the Differential was leaking Grease or whatever and that it was blowing it all forward? Well I replaced the pinon seal and it stopped it for a week. Now it's blowing back out again so what the heck could it be now?? |

FYI - on the plugged breather - it doesn't have to be at the diff - it could be anywhere in the line - blow some air through it |

Okay so I had it checked and the mechanic seems to think the pinon seal was bad from the factory.. Manufacturing errors do happen, but if a new seal don't fix it then he says it's a bent drive shaft. However my dad who is 67 says if it's a bent driveshaft the car will shake really bad, and I remember on my brother's 66 Ford Mustang when he broke the driveshaft it shook horribly, but mine doesn't shake except for the alignment problem which I'll get fixed soon, but I don't think this guy know's what he is doing so where is the breather tube so I can check it myself.. |

scroll down to the rear diff picture http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=7229 you should be able to pull the end off and blow air through the tube - not too much - just check for clogs. (bicycle pump or mityvac - should work) |
