Post subject:  Laptop Mounts?

Does anyone have any experience with any laptop mounts for the jk?

I know ram and jotto desk both make one, pros, cons?

Do they work well in the liberty?
Can you still have a passenger?

I use my laptop in my car all the time, i use it for gps and topo maps,
and sometimes i use it at work when i cant get to remote places with the fleet trucks.

Thanks!

Saw this one too, and they state something to the effect of maximizing passenger leg room.

I have a ram-mount laptop mount in my Kenworth semi. It works great! I would have no reservations about buying one for my jeep if I needed one! The one I have has worked as they claimed it would. Being in a truck is a harsh enviroment, lots of vibration and jolting.

From a technical standpoint....my suggestion is if you do end up mounting your laptop in your jeep consider upgrading your hard drive to solid state (if its not already). hard drives do not hold up well to being tossed around and bumped. i see it in my line of work as a Network Admin. that hard drive being bumped and tossed around increases the chance of failure significantly. with solid state you have no moving parts :P. 8) thats my 2cent
