The rear rotors on my '06 Liberty are marked "11 mm Minimum Thickness". The outer edge is only about 12.25 mm thick. I haven't taken them off yet, but the wear surface seems to be about .25 mm below the outer edge. So the maximum initial thickness before turning would be about 11.75mm. That allows about .37 mm maximum cut depth on each face to clean them up. Doesn't seem like there's much rotor thickness to work with.

I may get PBR replacement rotors. PBR is owned by Bosch, and the original rotors are Bosch.

Get new rotors.Make sure to adjust the parking brake shoes in some for the new rotor also.

Roger That , I just replaced mine last Nov. so its about right , they don't give much leeway on turning them .

If I'm not mistaken 0,25mm is just under 0,010".
Ten thou isn't much....is it worth confirming run-out with a dti on the vehicle
and
if you have the kit, degree of rutting on the surface?
You could get an idea of this if you have parallels, with a touch of prussian blue.

I'd also mic/vernier the thickness first cause sometimes the lip isn't such a good wear indicator.

I would do this as we pay in blood for parts.
It then makes a difference if you are skimming in a lathe or surface grinding....yeah?
or
do you have a surface grinder that will run on the lathe?

Sorry bout the spellies - I'm an engineer not an author.
Knock up a mandrel...ya da ya da

All the best
