Hey im new to this. i bought my jeep a year ago, im working on it every way i can, i have put a CAI on it kinda jimmied it in. what i have done a month ago was take off the muffler. will that effect anything? dont want to kill the girl!

Assuming you took off the old muffler and replaced it with some pipe, there won't be any issues.

I would not drive it though if no piece of pipe was put in to replace the muffler and ensure the exhaust is getting out the back as this will cause you serious issue due to carbon monoxide poisoning etc.

a little bit of backpressure is good, get a good aftermarket muffler like a super 44 flow or something, when i had mine completely open i was losing torque

and you will get awful gas mileage...

with mine off I get about 12.6.....

well i have not put any pipe on. i have noticed that when i gun the thing i can make it get about 17- 15 mpg. but when i drive like a granny i get 20-21 on street. i had a buddy that put a straight pipe on his grand cherokee and was getting i think iyt was 25 mpg in city. so i thought it might do better with out the muffler.

With my evic.

muffler off, driving like a granny. 13.5MPG

Same, driving normally, 10.8-11.5

Muffler (glasspack) on, driving normally, 17.6 mpg
