| Post subject: | Weekend Update |
Finally installed my lift kit. Ran into a few problems , but i figure thats what makes it a learning experience; Right?? Over all probably took me ten hours over the course of two days. Such a pain in the I know now why every shop wanted to charge me $400+ for the install. Just a few questions... Since the installation my Liberty tends to just turn it's self off while i'm driving... i can probably go about 2 miles before it happens. I was wondering if the battery just needs to recharge; since it has been sitting in the driveway in the cold? How long normally until i need to replace Ball Joints? Is there anything i should be worried about now that it's lifted? |

Sounds like a weak battery, especially if you tend to make a lot of short trips with headlights on and what not - would try charging the battery before goin further with it the 3 things that a lift tends to accelerate wear on, or exacerbate existing problems are ujoints, cv joints, and balljoints lift changes the angles on all three, our upper control arms don't have serviceable ball joints, so a balljoint problem on the uca's tends to lead to a replacement of the entire control arm, some people get JBA UCA's which correct the upper angle and get it back in stock alignment specs lifted or not, our stock upper balljoints are something that everyone has to keep an eye on and check regularly for wear - there's a how-to thread around here somewhere for checking the ubj's for wear wouldn't say you really need to "worry" about any of those 3 things, but, they are items that can receive accelerated wear and things you need to keep an eye on so that you don't experience a problem, particularly with the UCA's |

you will want to align it now that you have the lift in and after you put the JBA's in it. After the UCA's it will drive like a new jeep |
