What is done to that TB? Is it just porting or is it bored out with a larger butterfly, ported, etc?

they're bored, smoothed at sensor ramps, resurfaced and what not then a thinner, larger butterfly is put in

ive done a ton of head porting and shaving and reliefs on cams, cranks and blocks for stroked engines but at the price that the FM tb is at.. it really wasn't worth doing myself

Looks like good work. I've done a little porting on the old dodge 2.2 turbo engines. I agree for what he's done there, it's worth the price. Noticable improvement?

depends on certain things, it is however, regardless of B&G equipment, is the missing link to the 30-40hp drop at 4050 RPM that lasts about 150 rpm

not sure if you're KJ stumbles, some almost "Cough" at that rpm as the computer readjusts fuel mixtures for the lack of air after 4k

i did quite a few things prior to calling Dan and getting the TB, none of which did a thing for the drop in hp at that range which was causing a triple stumble during acceleration past 4k rpm

the TB was the one thing that changed between dyno runs that not only took out the triple stumble, but also changed it from a 30 drop but increased it at that range 15 over the static curve

the one KK i've taken to the dyno did not exhibit this behavior, but it is typical of ALL 02 to 07 KJ 3.7's, i wouldn't mind getting the chance to stick a caliper on the KK throttle body, i'm guessing it's 62mm like the 02, early 03 tb's and the 03 to 07 tb's should have been to begin with

the loss of bore size is due to a 1.49 mm taper in the bore, even the TB on an 02 4.0 TJ has it

i'm sure they have their reasons for doing it that way, shrug...

btw you're more than welcome to drive my KJ and/or look at the TB if you have any hesitancy i don't live that far away, was just up there in Micro the other day

The drive by wire TB goes from 63 mm to 66 mm with the fastmen

i'd imagine that 63mm is one of the several reasons why the KK model 3.7's doesn't crap itself at 4k like the 02-07's

be nice if they were interchangeable

So bump to the thread. Anyone have a new link for the tb? The one posted everywhere seems to be dead. Or anyone else in the boring business?
